On Sunday 9th July over 150 of the church family gathered, in glorious sunshine, for our annual church BBQ in the vicarage garden.
The vicarage garden was filled with young and old gathering to eat and be family together. From 0s – 90s it was a truly multi-generational event enjoying good food and great weather. The bring and share lunch was supplemented by a fantastic BBQ cooked by Dan Christian and Andy Griffiths – gas and coal BBQs were in completion once again!
As part of our time together we also prayed for our Connected Church Partnership with the Diocese of Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. Everyone joined one of four groups and prayed for different aspects of our partnership and, particularly, the growing impact of our relationship and the community mobilisation training we are supporting. Each group created a large prayer poster, pictures of which will be sent our partners in Tanzania.
We would really value your continued prayer
Pray for further training that is planned to take place
Pray that the team are equipped with the skills and knowledge they need to take their church through the process. Pray that this will help them to mobilise their God-given resources to serve any needs within their community.
Pray for the Tearfund team in Tanzania
Pray for Tearfund's work right across Tanzania with all if their different partners. Pray for better relationships with churches and government. Pray for safety for each team member and their families.
Pray for the Diocese of Kilimanjaro
Pray for the construction of a Diocesan Health Centre in one of the Maasai communities - that they are able to find all the resources needed to start building. Pray for plans to reach out and plant new churches so they can bring many to Jesus across the Diocese. Pray for the Diocese to get enough resources for the Evangelists and Pastors in the newly planted Churches.
Pray for the development of Community Farms
Pray for the development of community farms that have already been started as a result of the training. Pray that God would send enough rain for the crops to prosper. Pray that enough food would be produced to feed those in need. Pray that all the community would get involved and that the farms would bring the community together. Pray for rain to enable a good yield of crops.
